Hofstetter Gas Flaring Solutions for all Fields

Harmful emissions (Green House Gasses) escaping into the atmosphere are detrimental to the environment and are discouraged and prohibited in most countries. The positive to the countless processes producing combustible gases and exhaust gases, is that Hofstetter offers technologies to manage them.

LANDFILL GAS

Landfill Gas management, extraction and flaring technology is currently one of our major markets in South Africa.
Landfill sites produce landfill gas (LFG), which is a large contributor to the greenhouse effect. This is generally rich in methane gas and offers enormous potential for electricity production and heat from landfill gas combustion.
We offer the best possible landfill gas management solutions (for operating or closed landfills) with high temperature flaring technology of high or low calorific value LFG, to meet even the most stringent air pollution laws and regulations.

Contra Odour has many years experience in landfill gas extraction and offer services in:

  • Odour control
  • Gas field management
  • Landfill gas migration and mitigation measures
  • Gas extraction, operation and maintenance
  • Gas well and leachate extraction

ANAEROBIC DIGESTION GAS

Modern technologies have allowed us to use the fermentation of natural and organic material to our advantage - as an efficient biogas fuel source. The Methane and Carbon Dioxide mixture offers a clean alternative to fossil fuels and Hofstetter flares are designed to combust all types of anaerobic digestion gas.

MINE GAS

Mine gas can be a safety hazard for employees and can result in lower production levels if not managed correctly.
Hofstetter offers mine degassing equipment and high temperature flares for safe and efficient combustion of mine gas. Burning mine gas compared to free venting reduces your Carbon Footprint by 23 times and gas can be used for power generation as well as heat recovery.

Gas extraction and flaring systems are useful to any mining application with methane gas; whether it be coal, gold or diamond mines.

INDUSTRIAL GAS

Process gases, wood gases and petrochemical fumes are all unavoidable combustible gases produced in an industrial process. Hofstetter's specifically customised industrial flares can be used as a main gas flaring system or as a backup, should your plant's gas cleaning system be shutdown for unforseen circumstances.
